About Us

American Legion Ryan Winslow Post 911 is a Veteran Service Organization (VSO) serving veterans and their families in Hoover, Vestavia, and parts of No. Shelby County.
We support various youth activities, such as Boys State, Girls State, Jr. Leadership Camp, and scholarship opportunities.
Post 911 replaces unserviceable flags for local schools and collects unserviceable flags for disposal.
We support the Vet Center in Hoover in various ways, including grants for their programs, snacks for their clients, and their annual Christmas party.
Post 911 participates in the annual Christmas Caravan at the B'ham V.A. Hospital.
We raise money for Wreaths Across America at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, and participate in the various programs hosted by the Support Committee.
On an "as needed" basis, we provide rent, utilities, food and transportation to veteran families in our area.
