Service Project Time!
The Initiative - USA has identified a needy veteran family in Dora - Walker County, Alabama - that could really use some help around the house with various tasks to upkeep the property.
The husband is an OIF Army veteran with heart and lung problems, is oxygen dependent, and has limited mobility. The wife and caretaker is currently hospitalized and has several health issues herself which also limits her ability to perform certain tasks around the house.
We are asking the local community to come out to show their love & support for these folks by volunteering a few hours of your time to help benefit this amazing veteran and his family!
Lite food, drinks & snacks will be provided on site for this service project. So bring your work gloves, tools & appetite for a great day of service for someone who has served this nation and sacrificed so much.
Listed below is a running list of tasks that need to be performed around the property:
INTERIOR:
SWEEPING
HIGH DUSTING
ORGANIZING HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
CLEANING WINDOWS
MOPPING
PAINTING
MINIMAL SHEET ROCK WORK
SOME MINOR ELECTRICAL
EXTERIOR:
MOWING
HEDGE TRIMMING
CLEAR BRUSH
EDGING
PRESSURE WASHING
BLOW ROOF OFF
CLEAN GUTTERS
BASIC CARPENTRY NEEDED
We need to help perform certain tasks around the house so that the property does not go into disrepair and cause any additional stress or hardship on this family. We look forward to seeing you there!
