
Helena Duncan joined the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) in 2020, bringing more than 30 years of executive-level experience in the financial industry, including serving as Regional President for Liberty Bank & Trust. She began her tenure at BCA as Director of Strategic Operations and Growth and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Operations and Investor Relations. Effective December 1, Duncan will become the first African American president of BCA.
“Helena Duncan has the experience, talent, and perspective to lead BCA and strengthen its role as the voice of Alabama business,” said BCA Chairman Mike Kemp, noting her strong leadership, management experience, and business acumen.
Over the past year and a half, Robin Stone has served as Interim Executive Director. Kemp expressed gratitude for Stone’s effective leadership and continued support of the organization.
“I am honored to be entrusted with leading such a prestigious organization,” Duncan said. “As we move forward, our focus will be on strong, effective advocacy for our members at both the state and federal levels.”
Duncan was recently named a Yellowhammer 2022 Woman of Impact and serves on several boards, including Dixie Electric Cooperative, YMCA, Montgomery Committee of 100, and Synovus Bank. She is married to Clarence Duncan, and they have two sons, CJ and Collin.
